Walking along the rocky trail, Sunshine slipped on a big rock. She looked down the sharp cliff and was very scared. Sunshine knew that she would have to pick up her feet carefully, so she did not slip and fall over the cliff.
Sunshine heard crying ahead. She trotted carefully along the rocky trail towards the crying. Sunshine could not see anything ahead but she heard, "Help!" Sunshine stopped and looked down the side of the steep trail. A little boy was caught on a ledge and could not get up. He must have slipped on a big rock and fell over the edge.
Sunshine had to help. She turned back towards the stable. She cantered through the rocks to go home for a rope. Sunshine stuck her head in the circle of the rope and asked all of the other horses to help in the rescue.
Apache, Bugsy, Sundown and Sunshine trotted back up the rocky trail to the little boy. Each horse put his head in the rope and waited for the little boy to grab one end. When the boy grabbed the end, all four horses pulled him up to the rocky trail. Sunshine guided the boy back to the stable, so he could call his mother.
