"Sunshine Gets New Shoes"

Sunshine is new at the stable at Shady Oaks Ranch. She looked at Apache and noticed that his iron shoes shined. She looked at Bugsy and noticed that his iron shoes shined. She looked at Sundown and noticed that his iron shoes shined. Then she looked at her broken hooves with splits and holes and felt very embarrassed. How could she go to the hospital to see all the sick children when her hooves were so ugly? How could she proudly trot around her corral and show the other horses her pretty stride?

Suddenly a truck came to the barn. It was the horse shoer. He got the halter and caught Sunshine. He lifted each of her hooves, trimmed them, filed the rough edges, and nailed on new shiny shoes. Wow, Sunshine looked pretty and proud.
